Here are some frequently asked questions about PMCLogic and paint and material costing:

What is a PMCLogic invoice?

The document used to bill for reimbursement of expenses for actual paint and material usage. The invoice includes an itemized list of paint and materials used in the repair job. Paint usage is listed by brand, quality, quantity and price. Materials are listed as individual and specific material items, including part number, description, quantity and prices. Descriptive headings and comment lines are also included on the invoice for clarity.

You may also use PMCLogic to document all paint and materials in order to invoice for costs exceeding the insurance company's allowance.

What materials are included by PMCLogic?

All individual and specific refinish product items, exc ept paint, used in the repair process. Examples include liquid mask, metal conditioner, razor blades, decal remover, underframe black, washing detergent, etc. Individual material items can be modified by name, manufacturer, quantity, and price.

What is are templates and where did they come from?

Templates are groups of refinish materials typically used in one particular area of a repair. (Templates may also be called "material kits.") For example, a "Panel Bonding Kit" includes items normally used when installing a door skin. The template includes panel bonding adhesive, sound deadening pad (inside the door skin), seam sealer (around the lip of the skin) and expandable foam sealer (which adheres the door skin to the anti-intrusion beam).

ComputerLogic used industry best practices and refinish experts to create the templates including PMCLogic. There are over 300 templates for all combinations of vehicles, panels and operations. You can modify these templates to better match your business operations and even create your own templates, if needed.

What is a Material Checklist?

A list of templates and their materials that can be included in a vehicle's job folder. Technicians repairing and refinishing the vehicle can jot down additional materials used and cross out unnecessary items. This annotated checklist can become a permanent record of the materials you used to restore the vehicle to pre-accident condition.

How does PMCLogic calculate its paint prices?

PMCLogic paint prices are based on actual data obtained from paint manufacturers. Prices are grouped by manufacturer, brand and quality.
